ADHD-DVD, Episode #30: When Harry Met Sally…
This week we're having what she's having, as we wrap up the month with another entry into the ADHD-DVD canon. Hayley's got the keys to the vault this month and is using the first Fun Friday of the fall to induct an autumnal classic, the rom-com that paved the path for all others after it, 1989's When Harry Met Sally..., directed by Rob Reiner, written by Nora Ephron, and starring Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby. In addition to dissecting the film, we also talk about its slew of imitators and pick out a few more modern examples that we feel are worthy heirs to the throne.
Other movies discussed in this episode include No One Will Save You, Sanctuary, First Blood, How To Deal, Batman Returns, Set It Up, Sleeping With Other People, Drinking Buddies, Pride & Prejudice, What If / The F Word, and a late last-minute shoutout for Night of the Hunter. We're hyperfixated this week on F-Zero 99, LOST, cross-stitching, and thrifting white whales. Plus J Mo cuts a deal with The Entity from Dead Reckoning.
We'll be back next week to kick off Martin Scorsese Month with Mean Streets, which is currently available on Starz if you'd like to watch it ahead of the episode.
